Gummy smile
Book your ‘Botox Consultation’ FIRST as it’s required before treatment.
Service Description
Important Notice – Please Read Before Booking Due to new legislation effective from June 2025, all clients must attend a face-to-face consultation with our nurse prescriber before receiving any botox treatments. This is a legal requirement and applies even if you’ve had treatment with us before. To avoid being turned away on the day, please book a ‘Botox Consultation’ first. This is a quick 10-minute appointment to assess medical suitability and issue your prescription. This consultation is purely medical, not for discussing cosmetic goals. Once prescribed, you’ll then be able to book your treatment. Consultation & Flexibility Your appointment starts with a full cosmetic consultation to assess your smile and upper lip movement. If you decide not to go ahead, your deposit is refundable. Treatments can also be adjusted or swapped on the day if needed. What’s Included This treatment uses precise injections to relax the muscle that pulls the top lip too far above the teeth when smiling. It helps reduce the appearance of a ‘gummy smile’ by softening upper lip movement. How It Works A small amount of botox is injected into the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi, the muscle responsible for lifting the top lip. If this muscle is overactive, it can pull the lip above the gum line. By relaxing it, the upper lip stays lower and your smile appears more balanced. Products Used We use a prescription-only botulinum toxin, administered by qualified medical professionals. The exact product and dose are selected based on your facial anatomy. Does It Hurt? The injections are quick and use a fine needle. Most clients describe it as a light scratch. Numbing isn’t needed. Downtime & Healing You may notice light swelling or redness at the injection site, but this settles within a few hours. There’s no downtime and you can return to normal activity the same day. Results & Longevity Results appear gradually over 5–7 days, with full results visible at two weeks. The top lip will appear more relaxed when smiling, helping to reduce gum visibility. Results last 6–12 weeks. Sessions & Suitability This treatment is ideal for clients who feel their smile shows too much gum and want a subtle, natural-looking improvement, without altering the shape or volume of the lips.
